Boreal was retained by Natural Forces and Tobique First Nation to conduct baseline terrestrial studies, post-construction monitoring, and baseline technical reports which includes:
- Avifauna surveys
- Wetland assessments
- Rare plant assessments
- Reporting
- Carcass monitoring
The project, undertaken by Natural Forces, was built in partnership with Tobique First Nation. The project consists of ten turbines fifteen kilometers southwest of the city center and has the capacity to power more than 10,000 homes annually in the area. The turbines are projected to produce a total of 42 megawatts and supply 15 per cent of the city of Saint John’s power. The electricity is distributed through Saint John Energy.
